Buccaneer Delft startup FLASC has signed its first major supplier agreements with Elma and HYDAC, both part of HYDAC B.V. This marks an important milestone in the development of FLASC’s onshore pilot system—bringing their hydro-pneumatic energy storage technology closer to real-world application.
The pilot is set for installation in Q4 2025 and will be tested in early 2026 at Plant One Rotterdam BV. It will demonstrate FLASC’s patented hydro-pneumatic energy storage technology and lead to technology qualification ahead of market entry.
Strengthening Offshore Energy Readiness
The collaboration combines electrical and hydraulic system expertise, essential for achieving the integration and reliability needed in offshore energy applications.

Preparing for Commercial Launch
The pilot will lay the groundwork for future commercial deployments, supporting grid flexibility and energy security in offshore environments. The project is supported by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA).
